Remarketing (also called retargeting) is showing ads to users who have previously visited your website, used your app, or interacted with your brand. Remarketing typically delivers significantly higher conversion rates than cold targeting because the audience already has brand awareness.
Common remarketing platforms: Google Display Network, Meta (Facebook + Instagram), LinkedIn, programmatic networks. iOS 14+ privacy changes have made some remarketing harder but it remains highly effective.
An e-commerce visitor browses three products but doesn't purchase. Over the next 7 days, they see Facebook and Instagram ads featuring those exact products. A meaningful percentage return and convert.
