A lead that sales has confirmed is worth actively pursuing.

A Sales Qualified Lead is an MQL that sales has spoken to and confirmed meets criteria for active pursuit — typically needs the product, has budget, has buying authority or path to authority, and reasonable timeline. SQL conversion rate from MQL is a core funnel metric.

Example

Sales accepts an MQL, has a discovery call, confirms the prospect has budget and buying authority. Lead becomes SQL and enters active sales pipeline.
